When your city has 15,000 people it's not hard to maintain a nice steady 4-5k profit, which makes it a good time to do things like upgrade your roads, but ramping that up to 50,000 people means that one school, one clinic, one fire station, etc. The others have covered the key issues (difficulty of specialization, region play, and so on), but I'll add one more piece of advice: Don't rush to make a city bigger just because you can. So how are you growing your city? I always build my industrial zones towards one side of the city, I build two financial zones, and everything else goes to residential.

I just want to grow my city to 75k but that just doesn't happen for me, I've been stuck at 30k for days now though my skyline is growing. My city grows to about 30k and it stops, I can't zone anymore residential, the areas that are built with homes (not skyscrapers) won't go up even though they have high land value, high-density streets, and plenty of parks near them in fact I spend so much money on parks that its the third largest proponent of my budget. I always specialize in Education which eats away at my budget but helps my city out, my budget is never red (usually I make about $7k an hour) but when it comes to growth it just doesn't happen. I just don't get it, I've always been one to be pretty good at playing SimCity games and I understand this game in particular is a whole different monster but I just can't seem to play it well enough. Planning to build one attraction now to earn even more money. Currently my hourly budget is 12k profits. Because of the highly educated sims, the crimes are low, injury and fire accident are kept at minimum so i don't need to build any police precinct or Hospital to meet the high demands. Supported by 2 fully upgraded Grade Schools, 1 fully upgraded High School, 1 College with 2 Extension Wing, 2 Libraries and a University. This time i focused on education system and it appears to be a good starting point! My current city have over 120k population. It isn't the best way ever to make a ton of money, but you need recycling to keep your city clean anyway, so why not make some money in the process?Īnyway i started on another region. You can make a decent amount of money through recycling.īuild a Recycling Center with some Alloy Reclimation Lines and make sure you have at least one Trade Depot set to trade Alloy to the Global Market.Īlloy currently makes 48k per 10 tons and one recycling center can easily add 100k simoleons to your monthly profit.
