Do not let anyone drain you of your energy or the power of light you have leaving you empty. Your power is yours and no one can have it. Many challenges collide in our life but it is how we handle them and keep going that should motivate us to reach that destiny. Our purpose should be fueled with passion and our focus should be on making sure our destiny is fulfilled. I say this because we each have a purpose in this life. Sometimes we allow the words, opinions and thoughts of others to question who we are and we shouldn't because you know you better than anyone else! Okay, maybe your mother knows you better than anyone else(LOL). How about you? I find the good in each day when I wake up and I choose to make each day better than the day before. Today I am thankful for the rain because my grass needs it as well as my daughter's beautiful garden. Today it is raining, thundering and lots of lightning flashes are flickering in my window. I am managing my grief as best as I can and sometimes, I feel like I am not doing it well and that is when I reflect on what I can do better, and I pull on my resources to help me navigate and find solutions to help me be better. For grieving parents, the death of a child is like none other, and it just hits you in ways you could not imagine. I give myself the space to do that as often as I need to. I let the tears flow and the emotions come. How often do you think about your loved ones that are no longer physically with you? For me it is every day that I miss my daughter Briana and I picture her beautiful bright smile that could always make a gloomy day a better day. I did my daily morning routine of prayer and motivation and made a cup of tea.

Make this week a great week that is full of potential and love yourself a little extra each day. They were placed in your life to be the vessel to share the mother's love with you. Do not run away from the love, embrace it and welcome it. For many of you who do not have your mother physically with you know that there are women in your life that love you whether they are relatives, friends, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, mentors, godmothers, aunts, cousins and grandmothers. I shed tears this morning and after the cleansing tears I preceded to get my day started to make today the best day that I will ever have. I do my best to remember the wonderful times my daughter and I shared together. Like many holidays it can be hard and sadness comes. I got up early and watered her flower garden and had a quiet moment to reflect on the Mother's days we did have together. As Mother's Day approaches, I get a little twinge in my stomach and I immediately think of the opportunities that I will not have with my daughter Briana.
